SMS Privacy Notice

NeriOS, operated by Fairlead Technologies, LLC(“we”, “us”), sends text messages on behalf of the maritime pilot organizations that use our platform — including the Sabine Pilots Association — to their own licensed pilots and personnel. What this program is

Operational messaging to a closed group of known participants: job assignment alerts, dispatch confirmations, vehicle-location confirmations, schedule updates, and similar dispatch-related prompts. This is a workplace tool for a pilot organization’s own members. It is not marketing, and it is not directed at the general public. Message frequency varies with operations. Message and data rates may apply.

What we collect, and where it comes from

• Phone number and name — provided directly by the participant or their organization during onboarding. We never obtain numbers from websites, purchased lists, third parties, or the public.
• Consent record — each participant’s opt-in is collected individually by their organization using a written consent form and recorded in the organization’s dispatch system, including who recorded it and when.
• Message delivery records — delivery status and replies (for example, a confirmation reply or a STOP request), retained as part of the organization’s operational record.

Consent and opt-out

• Participants opt in individually, in writing, before receiving any automated message. The consent statement each participant signs reads: “I agree to receive operational dispatch text messages from NeriOS. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
• Upon enrollment, participants receive a one-time text message confirming their opt-in.
• Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts immediately; one final confirmation message will be sent. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at the email below.
• To re-enroll after opting out, reply START to a previous message or contact your organization.
• Opting out has no effect on employment or membership standing; dispatchers simply reach the participant by phone instead.

Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent records are not shared with any third parties. We use service providers only to deliver the service itself — message delivery via Twilio, and hosting and database via Supabase — under contract, and they may use the data only to provide their service to us. We do not sell personal information.

Security and retention

Data is encrypted in transit, isolated per organization using database row-level security, and retained while the participant’s organization uses the service or as required for the organization’s operational records. Opt-out requests are retained so that we do not message a number that has withdrawn consent.
